What Happens If Treatment For Psoriasis Fails?

February 9th, 2008

The leading treatment for psoriasis
is topical creams. Some are made with steroids. Another effective
ingredient is retinoids, a vitamin A related chemical. In more severe
cases or cases when the topical creams aren’t satisfactorily effective,
doctors often use phototherapy or light therapy. The psoriasis creams
and light therapy are often used together for the best results. When
those measures prove to be unsuccessful, a group of drugs called
systemic therapy is used.
