What causes periodontal disease?

Periodontal disease is a disease that is affecting the gums
and bones that supports the tissues of our teeth. It has been said that almost
all of us is suffering from gum inflammation every now and then. Around 10% of
all the people around the world are suffering from much more severe kind of gum disease that results to tooth lose and loss of supporting bone. This 10%
appears to be in a much higher risk of losing teeth through periodontal disease
or much more know as gum disease. This gum disease is commonly caused by
bacteria which regularly collect on the teeth.
