Truth About Melatonin Sleep Aid

December 29th, 2007

Melatonin, which is a
natural hormone in your body, has received a lot of attention in the
media in connection with sleep. Supplements of melatonin are sold
without a prescription. Like all supplements, these are not regulated
by the Food and Drug Administration. Research on sleep shows that
melatonin does play a role in the sleep-wake cycle and that
supplements can improve sleep in some cases, such as jet lag.
Considering using a melatonin sleep
aid
will certainly help you get a relaxing nighttime sleep.
However, because melatonin has not been extensively studied, its
effects are not clearly understood.
