The Use Of Effexor For Hot Flashes May Endanger Health

December 8th, 2007

Effexor is a drug that was originally designed to combat bipolar
disorder. A few years back it was discovered that is alleviated hot
flashes in some patients. While it looked like one of the promising drugs for hot flash relief
soon women were reporting very unnerving side effects to the drug.
These included dramatic change in vision, headache, a decrease in
sexual desire, chest pain, ringing in ears, mood swings, fainting,
seizures, difficulty urinating, and high blood pressure. When a drug
causes so many problems it makes a patient wonder if the cure the drug
brings is actually worth the price you pay with your health and well
being.
