The Risks Of Using Prescription Sleep Aids

December 21st, 2007

Insomnia can be a symptom of physical disorders,
although for most of us it is the result of tension, stress and
anxiety and of course the more anxious you get about your insomnia,
the worse it gets. If your doctor pronounces you a healthy insomniac,
he might suggest some sleep tips like avoiding caffeine or alcohol
before bedtime, drink a warm glass of milk, exercise, keep your bed a
place for sleep, avoid naps, and establish a healthy bedtime routine,
or if your insomnia is getting stubborn your doctor might prescribe
drugs to help you get to sleep.

Prescription sleep aids can help in some cases, but
they are not a cure for insomnia. They are only a temporary form of
relief. They are best used for only a few days. Regular use can lead
to rebound insomnia. This occur when a person quites taking
prescription sleep aids and most probably your insomnia comes back.
Prescription
sleep aids
can be unsafe to use if you have certain health
problems. With that, it is better to treat insomnia naturally for
surely you can get relief.
