Bad breathe a common dental problem

Bad breath is a very common dental problem. Bad breath is also called halitosis in medical terms. There are many different things that can cause bad breath or halitosis, from not brushing your teeth regularly to a certain medical condition. But the most common cause of halitosis is poor oral hygiene, because when we leave food particles in our mouth, there pieces of food will eventually rot and cause a foul odor. Also, these food particles can collect any kinds of bacteria which can also be smelly also. Plus, buy not brushing your teeth regularly, a plaque will start to form in our gum line and soon it will become tartar that can also lead to halitosis.

Remedy for halitosis

Halitosis is cause by bacteria living in our mouth. Because whenever we eat
something that is high in sugar and protein it sets a reaction in our digestion
that excretes microbes. This microbe is just like any other living things that
must eat, and this sugar and protein are just some of the favorites of these
microbes. When this bacterium eats, it won’t take long for them to produce a
waste product which gets left in out mouth. This waste product is now going to
cause halitosis or bad breath. Most people believe that just by eating fresh
mints, bad breath will be treated, which is very wrong because this mints
contains high amount of sugar which can worsen the halitosis.

Treatment for halitosis

There are some unfortunate people who have bad breath halitosis because of too much eating candy, drinking alcohol, too much protein.
Also, every time we put something into our mouth that is sweet and high in
protein, it sets-off a chain reaction of digestion and it excretes microbes
that live in our mouth. These bacteria must feed in order to survived, and
there are 3 substances that this bacteria likes to eat, those are sugar which
most candy are abundant, alcohol, and protein. Once this bacteria digest this
substance, they will eventually produce waste products which usually appears in
a form of sulfur compounds, and this is were halitosis or bad breath starts to
occur.
