August 23rd, 2007

The operators of the clinic adminster one shot to make you quit smoking. They claim to use FDA-approved drugs but be aware that these drugs
are only approved for certain medical conditions with the exception of
quitting smoking. Now let’s examine these two drugs used in the
treatment.

Scopolamine comes from Deadly Nightshade and other
datura family members. Doctors use it to motion sickness. It is also
used for illegal purposes. One of them is date rape as it can cause
retrograde amnesia.

Atropine originates from belladonna and other related plants. It helps to dilate your eyes when you attend an eye examination.

I don’t know how these drugs work in helping you to stop smoking. It
just baffles me. However, these prescribed drugs need close supervision
as they come with warnings and restrictions.
