Smoking Cause Periodontitis

Periodontal
disease
is associated with smoking. Studies shows that a person
who smokes will probably has a greater risk of Periodontal disease,
and the treatment of periodontal disease to a smoker is said to be
less effective than of a non-smoker. Smoking weakens the immune
system thus it can’t defend the bacteria that causes infection.
Smokers are more likely to develop severe periodontal disease case.
Halitosis or bad breath one symptom of a periodontal disease and
smokers are less likely to notice it because of the decreased
abiility to smell.

Smokers
are risking their dental health. The best way to prevent periodontal
problems is to quit smoking and observe proper dental hygiene.
