Plaque
is an invisible, sticky film that is composed primarily by bacteria
from food particles left in the mouth especially starch and sugar.And
plaque initiates gingivitis.
When hardened, plaque forms into tartar that can be found in the gum
line. Both plaque and tartar causes the gum irritates the gums
causing infection to occur, red, swollen and bleeding gums are
experienced.
Brushing
and flossing removes bacteria and plaque. Using antiseptic mouth
rinse can also aid in preventing bacteria and plaque build up.
However, plaque and tartar that formed under the gum line can be
difficult to remove and it will take a professional to remove it, and
that will be your dentist.

drugs or medications, viral and fungal infections, other medical
conditions, poor nutrition and hormonal changes can contribute in the
progression of the condition and must be avoided.
