Repairing Receding Gums, Treating Its Underlying Causes

Tooth
sensitivity is often experience by people having a recede gums
regardless of its cause. Teeth and gums becomes sensitive with hot
and cold and even with spicy foods.

Treating
sensitive teeth and gums won’t be successful unless the underlying
cause of receding gums is treated. The most common causes of receding
gums are gum disease or periodontal disease, mouth trauma and
unfitted crowns and fillings.

If
receding gums is caused by gum disease or periodontal disease,
bacteria must be eliminated and any infection must be treated before
starting with receding gums treatment. Unfitted crowns and fillings
should be redone, treatment of receding gums won’t be a success
unless these problems are addressed.

The
common treatment is to desensitize the teeth with topical dental
products and in other cases the dentist may recommend taking
nutritional supplements such as Calcium, Vitamin B and C.

Receding
gums
is a common symptom of gum disease. To cure receding gums
the underlying causes should be treated first. Superior oral hygiene
plays an important role in preventing gum disease, receding gums.
