Proper Diet And Good Oral Hygiene For Proper Prevention Of Gum Disease

February 9th, 2008

Other medical condition-There are times when even good oral hygiene and
a proper diet will not be enough to prevent gum disease and other
problems relating to the condition. Diabetes is a medical condition
wherein the blood sugar levels spike causing the pancreas to increase
production of insulin. As the body tries to bring blood sugar levels
back into line, it uses more water and thus leads to dehydration.
Without proper hydration, the mouth will not have enough saliva to keep
the anaerobic bacteria populations in check. When other medical
problems are causing the condition, prevention of gum disease is near impossible and you should instead focus upon treating the symptoms.
