Prevent Eczema Outbreaks, Follow Simple Precautions

February 20th, 2008

In both children and adult eczema is very common. But it commonly
appears during infancy. Even though there is no cause for the disease
yet it has been affecting families with genetic history of skin
allergies. Eczema can be developed through heredity and through
exposure to environmental triggers. Many people who suffer from eczema
can also suffer from allergic rhinitis and asthma. Children born with
eczema can be able to outgrow eczema by the time they are between 5 and
15 years of age. Others tend to suffer the disease throughout their
lives. Eczema can be prevented and can be avoided through simple
precautions. Help reduce the severity of the disease and prevent
frequent flare ups: frequently moisturize skin, avoid change in
temperature or humidity, avoid activities that make you sweat, reduce
stress, avoid materials that are scratchy and rough, avoid soaps that
are harsh as well as detergents and solvents, avoid environmental
factors that can trigger allergies, and avoid preservative foods that
can cause eczema outbreak.
