Decubitus ulcer

February 1st, 2008

Bed sores are very ordinary nonetheless found to
be a very serious problem in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and
hospitals. Take loved one who is experiencing bed sore and immediately
take them to the wound care specialist. We see families all the time, that
assume they are healing and by the time they learn otherwise, it’s too late. Decubitus
ulcer, it sounds like a fancy terms for the things that are alike - a wounded
created because of excessive pressure on the skin, which also cause the skin to
breakdown. The occurrences of these wounds are frequently in care
settings that are long term. Currently, by stating they occur frequently, I am
not implying that pressure ulcers are not preventable, or treatable. I am
conveying that simple, but true fact, that wounds are suffered by thousands of
our long term care residents.
