Complicated Treatments Done For Chronic Periodontitis

January 11th, 2008

Chronic periodontitis
is actually the most common form of advanced periodontal gum disease.
This particular condition is characterized by a slower rate of bone and
gingival degeneration than found with aggressive periodontitis. Gum
disease treatment is complicated when dealing with chronic
periodontitis because pockets form in between the gum tissue and
supporting bone structures. These pockets must be cleansed of bacteria
and then the gums must be reattached to the bone.
