Common Culprits That Can Cause Bad Breath

February 14th, 2008

While any of the diseases listed above can cause bad breath,
the most common culprits are gram negative anaerobic bacteria. These
bacteria produce toxins that cause the odors associated with halitosis.
The larger their populations grow, the more severe the chronic bad
breath will become. If you do not keep the bacteria under control, they
may cause an infection and a condition known as gingivitis-a mild form
of a very serious problem known as gum disease.
