Causes of gingivitis

September 3rd, 2008

One thing you will notice on people with gingivitis is that
they have swollen gums that appear to be color red. If you think that red gum
is healthy, you are misinformed. Healthy gums have a color pink in appearance.
Gingivitis is cause by an infection found in the dental plaque. Most people
with gingivitis don’t know that they have gingivitis because it’s often
painless. First sign of gingivitis is the bleeding gums during brushing.
Although it is not painful, the blood alone is already a sign that there is
something wrong with your gums. Gingivitis
is best treated in its early stage to avoid it from worsening and become an
irreversible dental health problem. For early stage of gingivitis, it can
easily be treated with just a proper oral hygiene. Regular visit to your
dentist is very beneficial in preventing any kind of dental problem from
occurring.
