September 24th, 2008

A number of factors can be causing receding gums including brushing too
hard, mouth injuries or trauma, smoking, oral piercing, misaligned,
gapped or crooked teeth and gum disease. Gum recession is best and
easily prevented by brushing with a soft-bristled tooth brush, using
only mild to moderate pressure while doing circular very short back and
forth strokes while brushing. When you experience receding gums in
almost all areas of the mouth, then it is mostly that gum disease is
the cause. Gum disease is one of the leading causes of receding gums,
which is why it should be treated upon discovering the problem. Natural
causes such as aging and naturally born thin gums can be protected from
receding gums by proper oral hygiene. The right dental care is also the
key in treating and reversing receding gums. If the condition become
severe, you might need to consult your dentist for treatments and receding gums cure.
